BREAKING: Young woman dies following dog attack in Limerick

A 23-year-old woman has died following a dog attack in Co Limerick.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to a home in Ballyneety at approximately 11:40pm this Tuesday night.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, gardaí have confirmed.

Her body has been removed from the scene to Mid Western Regional Hospital, Limerick, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place later today.

The animal believed to be involved in the incident has now been destroyed. A number of other dogs have been seized.

An investigation is ongoing.
