Gardai investigate break-in at Limerick college

THIEVES broke into Mary Immaculate College and stole a sum of money, Limerick Live has learned.

A garda spokesperson confirmed officers received a report of an incident of burglary that occurred on Thursday evening, May 9 at a premises on the South Circular Road in Limerick city.

"A sum of cash was taken in the course of this incident," said the garda spokesperson.

The amount stolen has not been revealed.

It is believed that the perpetrators stole the money from the canteen in Mary Immaculate College but it is not known how they gained entry.

"Investigations are ongoing at this time," said the garda spokesperson.

Anybody who may have seen suspicious activity in the South Circular Road area on Thursday evening, May 9 is asked to contact Henry Street garda station on 061 212400.
