PICTURES: Limerick pupils leave school bags at home for Donnacha Ryan Luke memorial run

KIND-HEARTED and creative Doon CBS Primary School pupils raised over €300 for the Donnacha Ryan Luke Memorial Truck and Tractor Run which takes place this Sunday, May 5.

The boys took part in a 'bring anything but your bag day' and brought their books to school in unique ways. They included suitcases, bins, pots and even a shopping trolley!

The quad bike would have been judged the winner by the late Donnacha, who loved anything with an engine.

The young man from Shanacloon, Cappamore passed away days after his 18th birthday in a tragic road traffic incident in August 2022.

Sunday’s memorial run will leave Tipperary Town for Doon where there will be family entertainment and live music.

Last year, over €70,000 was raised for good causes and this year the beneficiaries will be Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust and Limerick Treaty Suicide Prevention.
