THIS weekend, Abbeyfeale will be alive with singing and dancing, as the 30th annual fleadh takes place.
There is a packed line-up of events from Thursday, May 2, until Monday, May 6.
Events will kick off on Thursday with a presentation of art posters and entertainment from Scoil Mháthair Dé at 7.30pm and a Oíche Cheoil agus Caint in Thomas TJ’s after that.
The streets will be alive with music on Friday evening with busking from 7pm and entertainment on the stage in the Square at 8.15pm as the Athea and Tournafulla wren boys perform.
Later on Friday, there will be the WL Singing Club in the Ramble Inn at 9pm and a set dance céilí in Fr Casey’s at 9.30pm.
Pubs throughout the town will also host sessions.
There will be workshops on Saturday from 11.30am and between 2.30pm and 4pm, there will be a youth trad session in Donal and Ann’s.
The choir will be on hand for the evening Mass at 6.30pm and, at the same time, there will be a session on the gig rig with the Templeglantine Comhaltas group.
At 8pm, Celtic Steps will perform in Coláiste Íde agus Iosef with support from the school band.
There will be a Brosna Céilí Band reunion with a book launch at 9pm on Saturday in Leens Hotel.
On Sunday, there will be a memorial Mass for past committee members at 12 noon.

For the little ones and not so little ones, there will be a family fun day at 2pm in the Square with a trad disco, followed by an afternoon of storytelling with Daisy Kearney in St Ita’s Hall at 3pm.
There will be a tribute to founding member, the late Dan Murphy, at 4pm in Murphy’s Bar.
The Mulcahy family will be in concert in the Glórach at 8pm.
Events will wrap up on Monday, with an open bones workshop in the hub at 4pm and music on the gig rig from 6.45pm until 8pm.
