SINN FEIN has added a third candidate to its local election team on the city’s northside.
Tanya Dunworth of Thomondgate has been selected to contest the election alongside sitting members, Sharon Benson and Tom Collopy.
A community activist and mother-of-three, Ms Dunworth has a degree in international economics.
She says she is “acutely aware” of the challenges communities like hers on the northside. where she’s lived for 20 years, are facing.

"I am thrilled to have been added to the ticket alongside Cllr Benson and Cllr Collopy for Limerick City North. I have seen first-hand the work our two councillors have achieved on the council and I believe that getting a third candidate elected, along with our colleagues in the rest of the city and county, will help and build on this work," she said.
Ms Dunworth is confident the party can take a third seat on the northside, and added: "Should I be elected I look forward to working alongside my party colleagues to implement meaningful change for the people of Limerick City and beyond."
Speaking on the announcement, Sinn Féin TD and candidate for the mayor of Limerick Maurice Quinilvan added: "I am pleased to see Tanya being announced as our third candidate for Limerick City North, this completes our election ticket across the city and is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our party to the people of Limerick over the years."
Election date is Friday, June 7.
