They are usually the ones inspiring music students from throughout Limerick and the Mid-West region.

However, for one night only the teaching staff from Limerick School of Music (LSOM) will be the ones in the spotlight as they perform at an upcoming Black-Tie Gala Fundraising Concert.

One of Limerick’s most iconic buildings, the Limerick Twenty Thirty-owned Gardens International venue on Henry Street will act as the perfect backdrop for the evening concert which takes place on Friday, April 26 at 8pm.

This is a very special event for the Limerick School of Music community with all proceeds from the event in aid of the LSOM Alumni and Friends Fund, which assists deserving students with their musical education, ensuring access to music education for all.

Limerick School of Music, managed by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, is the largest provider of music education in the region both at its main location on Mulgrave Street in Limerick and through a successful partnership programme for music education with three Limerick city primary schools.

These include CBS, Presentation and Our Lady Queen of Peace National School.

Those supporting the fundraiser are in for a musical treat with a sparkling evening of classical music favourites promised courtesy of a 40-piece orchestra complete with a Steinway grand piano.

This will be a fully-seated event and the programme for this special fundraiser will include music for orchestra and soloists by Mozart, Bellini, Bizet, Mendelssohn, Rodrigo and Liszt.

Guests will also get to enjoy a reception of prosecco and canapés during the interval where they can mingle with other music enthusiasts before the second half.

Tickets for this wonderful fundraising event are €50 and are available online from the school website www.limerickschoolofmusic.ie and include admission and prosecco/canapés reception at the interval.

The LSOM Alumni and Friends Fund was established in 2022 to help students of Limerick School of Music with their musical education.
