A GIANT-WINGED Pegasus will leap straight out of Greek mythology and onto the city centre streets as Riverfest returns for its landmark 20th year.

Taking place on the Bank Holiday weekend, between Friday, May 3 and Monday, May 6, there are many different highlights with Limerick once again the place to be!

As well as the many returning favourites - think the Riverfestival Village at Arthur’s Quay Park and the panoramic wheel - a new outdoor party area is to open at Howley’s Quay across the weekend.

The city will once again play host to a barbecue competition, while theatre group Fidget Feet will provide bingo fever, and there will be a Fashion Fest event led by local style queen Celia Holman-Lee.

Sunday will see the city centre streets turn into an athletics track as the Regeneron Great Limerick Run returns.

There will be thrills and spills on the River Shannon with kayaking, dragon boats, angling, rowing, boat tours, and swimming all making a splash across the weekend.

Thousands are expected to descend on the city to enjoy Limerick’s biggest weekend of the year and soak up the different kind of energy that makes Limerick unique.
