Yellow wind warning for Saturday

OVER 1,000 customers were without power in Limerick on Saturday morning as Storm Kathleen battered the country.

In Abbeyfeale, 832 customers were affected by a power outage which was first reported at 8am. According to ESB Power Check, power should be restored by 11:45am.

Meanwhile in Newcastle West, 277 customers were without power with an expected restore time of 9:15am.

Storm Kathleen is expected to cause high winds across Ireland with a yellow wind warning in place in Limerick until 8pm on Saturday.

Met Eireann have warned of fallen trees, dangerous travel conditions and loose debris due to the storm.

A status orange wind warning is in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford until 2pm on Saturday.
