KILMALLOCK GAA Club celebrated the 50th anniversary of their three-in- a-row of county senior hurling titles at Bulgaden Castle.

This special event honoured the Kilmallock teams of 1973, 1974 and 1975 who famously won three senior hurling titles in a row. The club also won two minor titles and a juvenile cup during this hugely successful period.

Event organisers invitied All-Ireland medal holders who played with Limerick, from the Kilmallock area between 1973 to 2018 to the event.

During that time, the club has gathered nine members with 24 medals with the first of them, Mossie Dowling, winning his medal in 1973.

Kilmallock also invited the captains of the Killeedy team, who they beat 2-12 to 2-4 in 1973, as well as the Patrickswell captain from their 1974 and 1975 final wins over them.

To add to the celebration, organisers invited all the winning captains from their 13 county final wins down through the years.

Bulgaden Castle was filled with old pictures, newspaper articles, match reports and more from those historic years for the club between 1973 to 1975.

The night was full of memories and reminiscing with Matt O'Callaghan, the MC for the occasion.
