KNOCKAINEY Community Café goers were delighted when the winner of the 2023 National Dairy Council and Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards paid them a visit.

John McNamara brought the trophy into the local voluntary cafe to show some of the older members of the community the accolade he had won.

Mr McNamara was also given a Mayoral Reception in County Hall five farming titles over the years, - FBD Young Farmer of the Year 2005, Farmyard of the Year 2009, Grassland Farmer of the Year 2018, and the winner of the 2023 National Dairy Council and Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.

Knockainey Community Cafe is a voluntary run initiative that caters to the elderly in the Knockainey and Lough Gur area. It gives them a place once a week to meet and have a chat over tea, coffee and home baking.
