Croom Medical St Patrick’s Day 10k run makes its return

THE ST Patrick’s Day 10k race will make its return to Croom the local community development association has confirmed.

This year’s race will be sponsored by Croom Medical.

Croom Medical who manufacture orthopaedic implants was named Medtech partner/supplier of the year, 2023.

“Croom Medical is a great local employer with a growing business in Croom,” a spokesperson for Croom Community Development said.

David Hurley, chair of Croom Community Development Association noted that “Croom Medical is a cornerstone of the fabric of Croom, a second generation company that has seen wonderful growth in the last number of years with 145 now employed in Croom and we are delighted to have Croom Medical partner with us for the St Patricks Day Run”.

“The route takes advantage of the River Maigue and the course runs past Croom Castle, along the riverside walk which Limerick council upgraded last year, the route continues through Croom Town Park and then completes a loop around Croom with wonderful views of Tory Hill.

“There is great take up for the run from across Limerick and beyond. The early start time allows families to get their exercise in and go and enjoy the St Patrick’s Day parades.”

Patrick Byrnes, Croom Medical also commented: “We are delighted to be associated with the Croom Medical St Patrick’s Day Run, operating within the orthopaedics sector we know and value the importance of physical activity and fitness. A keen athlete Mr Byrnes explained that he has “often participated in the run and that it is an ideal activity for St Patrick’s Day morning.”

Croom Medical St Patrick’s Day 10k Run takes place in conjunction with the Riverside 5k Family Run.

The family-run will include those walking and running with families, children and dogs, there is an opportunity for all to join in.

The Croom Medical 10k is one of many St Patrick's Day events taking place across the city and county.
