Man taken to hospital after road traffic collision in Limerick

A MAN IN his 30s was rushed to hospital following a road traffic collision in the early hours of this Saturday morning.

Emergency services responded to the incident at the R506 near Annacotty Business Park at approximately 2.40am.

It's understood the car being driven was turned on its side.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle was removed from the scene and taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick (UHL).

Three fire appliance were dispatched from Limerick Fire Station at Mulgrave Street in the city centre and remained there for two hours.

The driver was treated for minor injuries in hospital.

Gardai have launched an investigation.
