LIMERICK'S first ever branch of Marks and Spencer Food is to open on the city's northside this Wednesday morning.
As part of a major new development near Clondrinagh roundabout, just north of Coonagh, Applegreen is opening a major new service station plaza.
Reminiscent of the Obama Plaza in Co Offally, the outlet will feature the branch of Marks and Spencer Food, a petrol filling station, a drive-thru Burger King, a car wash, a branch of Braeburn coffee and a Subway.
The opening provides an economic boost to Limerick, with around 100 jobs created.
The service station will operate on a 24/7 basis.
The Marks and Spencer food facility will offer a 'click and collect' service.
This means people who order from the British retailers clothing range can save on the cost of postage - or a trip to its department stores elsewhere in Ireland - and have items brought to Clondrinagh, where they can be collected.
