The fire-damaged property in Askeaton up for online auction on Wednesday, January 24
A QUINTESSENTIAL “doer-upper” in Askeaton will be sold to the highest bidder later this month.
The property was subject to a substantial fire throughout and requires total restoration works, according to the auctioneers, Galway-based O'Donnellan and Joyce.
Five units of Limerick Fire and Rescue Service, from across the county, attended the incident on Church Street Askeaton after being called to the scene at 11am on Friday, March 3, 2023.
The house has now been offered for sale by public online auction on Wednesday, January 24 at noon.
The two storey end-of-terrace residential property stands on an extensive site with a large garden, say the auctioneers.
“There is an archway to the front of the property which leads to the rear garden.
The layout of the accommodation is comprised of living room, kitchen / diner, bathroom, four bedrooms along with storage accommodation,” reads promotional material from O'Donnellan and Joyce Auctioneers highlighting the upcoming auction.
They say the fire-damaged house is located in the heart of Askeaton town, just off Church Street, which is a link road which connects the R518 to the main street while only being 200m off the N69.
It is situated directly opposite Supervalu and Colaiste Mhuire Secondary School.
Limerick city is approximately 24km distance away and is within easy commuting distance of Shannon Airport, say the auctioneers.
A €5,000 bidder security fee must be paid in advance of the online auction in order to bid on the day. If unsuccessful this is fully refunded.
If the bidder is successful, they are immediately contracted on the drop of the hammer and the non-refundable balance of 10% must be paid immediately.
