ONE private Limerick school has ranked the most expensive in the country with increased fees.
The most expensive schools are charging fees of over €10k. Glenstal Abbey school in Murroe, Limerick, is the most expensive on the list, charging €13,462 for 2024 day fees - an increase of €1,229.
This is the first time in the history of the State that it will cost over €10,000 to send a child to a private school.
Information gathered by the Irish Independent listed all of the State’s private schools and compared the 2023 to the 2024 figures, for day fees and full-board fees.
For a seven-day full boarding option, Glenstal Abbey ranks in third place, charging €21,704. The Limerick Leader has contacted the school for comment.
