Gardaí launch investigation into Limerick house fire

Gardai maintained a presence at the home in Windmill Street, Limerick city centre this Tuesday morning

GARDAI have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a fire which gutted a house in Limerick.

The scene of the blaze, at Windmill Street in the city centre, has been preserved, with officers maintaining a presence on site as a result.

Personnel from Limerick Fire and Rescue, gardai and the National Ambulance Service were all in attendance at the fire which broke out in a two-storey terraced property at around 9.30pm on Monday.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana confirmed that nobody was injured in the blaze.

Investigations are ongoing.
