'Emergency building works' force temporary Limerick road closure

Access at the corner of Thomas Street and Wickham Street was restricted this Friday evening

PART OF a Limerick road is to be closed this Friday evening in order to facilitate "emergency building works".

Limerick City and County Council has given notice the upper part of Thomas Street, from its junction with Wickham Street to Anne Street will be restricted.

There will be no access to cars through the access to the city centre street provided by Foxes Bow.

Local authority staff are currently working with the owners and tenants of two buildings in question.

Limerick Live understands issues were identified with two buildings - both of which are out of use - and further assessment was required.

In order to do this, the street needed to be closed to get the containers in to do works.
