In Pictures: Limerick Bastille Day Wild Geese Festival volunteers recognised for work

COMMUNITY groups involved in the Limerick Bastille Day Wild Geese Festival have been recognised for their contribution to the festival.

Festival organisers presented the groups with certificates of appreciation at Curraghgour Boat Club in Limerick city.

Launched in 2019 by Dr Loïc Guyon, the honorary consul of France in Limerick, in partnership with Limerick City and County Council, the annual event commemorates the Flight of the Wild Geese and celebrates the historical friendship between Ireland and France.

Among the groups of volunteers who were honoured at the meeting were the reenactors from En Garde (the Franco-Irish Historical Society), the Saint Mary’s Prize Band, the Limerick School of Music, Scoil Uí Ruairc, Saint Mary’s Parish Men’s Shed and the Curraghgour Boat Club.
