Met Éireann issues raft of weather warnings with four counties to be battered
MET ÉIREANN has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Limerick which warns that "heavy showers will be prolonged or thundery at times with local hail, and some spot flooding is likely."
The warning is valid until 6am on Friday morning.
The second alert, a Status Yellow wind warning for Limerick has been issued from 9:34am and will be in effect until 4am on Friday.
It comes into force at 11pm on Thursday.
Met Éireann warns of "strong and very gusty west to northwest winds."
Possible impacts include "difficult travelling conditions and wave overtopping."
In their general forecast, Met Éireann says; "Tonight will be windy with frequent showers early on, become more isolated towards morning. Some showers will be heavy and prolonged and may cause spot flooding. Hail and thunder are possible too. Fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds veering northerly, becoming very strong for a time in west Munster. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees."
In a further outlook, Met Éireann says; "Staying unsettled with further spells of rain or showers."
A Status Yellow rain and wind warning has come into effect for or Clare, West Cork, and Kerry also.
