A FRENCH restaurant located at Steamboat Quay in the city has won a monthly Limerick Tidy Towns award.
Staff at the French Table have been honoured for the outdoor floral arrangements they prepare in the area.
Maura O’Neill of Limerick City Tidy Towns said the French Table was a business they felt they could not ignore.
“While we try to vary the type of business we present awards to so it’s not mainly hospitality, we simply couldn’t overlook the French Table with its beautiful outdoor floral arrangements, spotless paintwork and windows and new exterior street-lamps, particularly combined with the recent improvements to Steamboat Quay by the council.”
The volunteer group say they always welcome businesses on the riverside grow and thrive.
The French Table first opened in June 2008.
It’s owned by Thomas Fialon who hails from Strasbourg, alongside his wife Deirdre, from Limerick.
Thomas is the chef with Deirdre running front-of-house.
The restaurant is well-known for its authentic French cuisine.
It becomes Limerick City Tidy Towns penultimate winner of 2023, and will be in with a chance of being named the group’s overall winner at an event early in the New Year.
Tidy Towns are always seeking new volunteers.
They meet on Sunday mornings at 11am, on the corner of Thomas Street and O’Connell Street in the city centre.
