Man attacked and robbed in Limerick
A MAN in his 50s was attacked and robbed while walking in Limerick city.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning of Thursday, October 5 when the man in his 50s was walking along Robert Street in the city.
At 12:30am, three men attacked the man from behind. He was knocked to the ground and his wallet as well as a set of Apple Air Pods were stolen from him before the three males ran off.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street garda station said these sorts of incidents can happen if a criminal believes they will get away with it.
"The criminal is looking for vulnerability and I think your hearing is vital as it could alert you to a potential attack.
"Just as I would advise a person to conceal their wallet, cash or phone I would also advise you to conceal Air Pods. They are expensive and easy for a criminal to sell on.
"If you are walking alone in an isolated area it is always safer to pay attention to your surroundings and that includes listening."
Gardai in Henry Street are investigating and asking any witnesses to this robbery to contact them on 061-212400.
