The incident happened at around 8.30am this Monday
A STAFFORDSHIRE Bull Terrier has been seized following a reported ‘attack’ in Limerick city this Monday.
While no formal complaint has been made, Limerick City and County Council (LCCC) has confirmed that a straying Staffordshire Bull Terrier was seized in the Moyross area on Monday afternoon.
LCCC Dog Wardens worked with An Garda Síochána to seize the dog after a member of the public reported witnessing an incident earlier Monday morning.
However, no formal complaint was lodged with the local authority or gardaí.
One person who witnessed the alleged attack in the Moyross area, at approximately 8:30am, contacted Limerick Live and said that they were in “complete shock” after the incident.
“I have never seen anything like it in my life - a woman who was walking her small Jack Russell terrier was lifting him above her head trying to save him from two other dogs attacking them.
“Nobody could do anything - the woman fell and was seemingly injured, as well as her small dog.”
This Monday's incident is the second dog attack in Limerick in just under a week, following an incident which happened in a property in Garryspillane on Tuesday, September 26.
A young child was injured following that incident and was treated for non-life threatening injuries in hospital.
