A NEW CULTURAL exchange has started in Moyross, with music, poetry, storytelling and other entertainment.
Residents gathered the communal area at the Cliona Park Apartments, opposite Corpus Christi Church for the first of what it's hoped will be monthly meetings showcasing the culture of the northside estate.
Tracey McElligott of the Moyross Residents' Forum said: "It's about celebrating the creative community in Moyross, it's about giving an open invitation to residents from Moyross and around the city to come and share their talents, their songs, their stories and their music. Hopefully we will be able to reignite a Moyross community arts group."
From here, it's anticipated the group will meet every month.
The event was led by poet Sheila Fitzpatrick-O'Donnell plus singer Julianne Hennelly and was made possible thanks to support from Limerick City and County Council and The Gaff cultural centre, which is set to open new premises at Lord Edward Street in the city centre.
