Róisín, who lived in Patrickswell for a year when she was younger, is linked to Limerick through her parents - her mother Majella is from Templeglantine and her father Eddie is from Kilmallock.
Speaking following her win Róisín said: “I'm speechless, I'm so thankful and so excited for the next year. I'm amazed and thankful for meeting all these girls. I'm just looking forward to everything that's to come. Thank you everyone.”
Before being crowned Rose, presenter Daithí O'Sé reminded viewers how Róisín eventually replaced Declan Hannon with the Liam MacCarthy Cup as her father's phone screensaver!
Dr Sinead Flanagan was the last Limerick Rose to be crowned winner in 2019. The NY Rose is the 63rd winner.
