IT'S been a jam-packed week for the Limerick hurlers following their All-Ireland victory, from homecomings to attending the football final and even a trip to the Big Apple for one of them!
Most of the team seem to be slowly returning to reality with Effin’s Nickie Quaid and Dromin-Athlacca’s David Reidy starting their Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship campaigns over the weekend.
The likes of Declan Hannon, Diarmaid Byrnes and Aaron Gillane along with his girlfriend enjoyed a trip back to the all-familiar Croke Park to watch an All-Ireland final from a spectator's point of view as Dublin defeated the kingdom of Kerry in the All-Ireland senior football championship yesterday.
Ahane brothers, Tom and Dan Morrissey also enjoyed the trip to Croke Park for the football showpiece.
Na Piarsaigh’s William O’Donoghue has taken a well-deserved trip to New York City with his girlfriend, touring around attractions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art but made sure not to miss all the football action from GAA HQ on Sunday while enjoying his break in the Big Apple.
It has been a week of celebrations for the boys in green from a homecoming celebration which saw 20,000 people line to streets of Limerick city to a homecoming in captain Cian Lynch’s home of Patrickswell.
“We are truly living the best days of our lives, thank you once again to all our families and supporters for the continued support. Ye are simply the best,” Lynch said on social media following the celebrations.
