THERE were jubilant scenes in the city this Monday night as 20,000 lined the streets to welcome home Limerick's hurling heroes.
Pery Square was packed to the rafters as the exploits of the senior hurlers who have won five of the last six Liam MacCarthy cups were celebrated.
Large crowds gathered from 5pm to greet the boys in green as they returned home having beaten Kilkenny by 30 points to 2-15 at Croke Park just over 24 hours earlier.
And the party went long into the night.
