THE FRIENDS of St Ita's, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting St Ita's Hospital in west Limerick, has received a significant donation of €10,000.
The contribution came from the Stonehall Harriers' Charity Show Fundraiser, held on April 22 and 23, at Hollypark Stables in Kilcornan.
Chairman Fergus Scanlan expressed his delight and gratitude, stating that the donation exceeded all expectations.
The Friends of St Ita's have been supporting the hospital's management and staff by funding various improvements, refurbishments, and high-tech medical equipment. Their financial assistance, amounting to thousands of euros, has been crucial in maintaining the hospital's high standards of care and treatment.
The funds have already been allocated to the purchase of a specialised hoist for St Ita's Rehabilitation Department, amounting to €10,820.
The Friends of St Ita's attribute their remarkable success to the overwhelming support and generosity of the Stonehall Harriers Hunt Club and other organisations.
With the help of these contributions, they have raised over €4.3 million to date.
