THE COUNTDOWN to the 2023 Limerick Chamber Business Awards is now under way.
Details of the awards were announced at a launch event which was hosted by the Castletroy Park Hotel.
On Friday, November 17, ten awards will be given out to companies and individuals from across the region at a black-tie event in the Strand Hotel.
Awards will be given for the best employer, best not for profit company, innovation excellence, and the best emerging firm.
There will also be honours for the best small to medium sized enterprise, while firms which have a focus on the environmental impact will be given an award.
There’ll be a prize for excellence in customer experience, and a community award.
One of these companies will also win the overall gong at the gala event, while there will be a lifetime achievement award given by Chamber president Miriam O'Connor.
All entries for the awards must be received by Limerick Chamber by Saturday, September 9.
Speaking to Business Leader at the launch event, Chamber chief executive Dee Ryan said the awards represent a great opportunity for business people
“It's a great opportunity to show the work and innovation that's going on in your business. The awards event is the largest and most prestigious business event in the Mid-West's calendar,” she said.
The Limerick Leader/Limerick Live is once again a media partner of the awards, which are being sponsored by Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).
TUS president Dr Vincent Cunnane said: “Working closely with businesses and industry is in our DNA, and our commitment to this is a win for the regional economy, our students and our partners.”

At the launch, the current president of Limerick Chamber, Miriam O'Connor of Sellors LLP, spoke of the ingenuity of the business community in Limerick and across the Mid-West region.
She said: “Through these awards, we aim to shine a spotlight on outstanding leaders, groundbreaking ideas, and transformative ventures that are shaping the future of business.
“We believe that recognising and celebrating achievements not only motivates the winners but also inspires others to push their boundaries and strive for greatness.”
