Charity collection box stolen from Limerick premises

TWO LIMERICK businesses have been targeted by opportunistic thieves.

On Thursday, June 15 at 5:30pm, a male walked into a premises in the city centre, picked up the charity collection box and walked out.

On Saturday, June 17 at 5:15pm, a youth walked into a retail premises on the Childers Road, saw a bag of coins that he picked up and walked out of the store with it. 

Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station advised that all collection boxes must be chained to the counter to prevent this type of theft.
