Thousands of homes and businesses without power in Limerick and surrounding areas

These outages come just hours after Met Éireann has issued a weather warning

TWO POWER outages have left thousands of households and businesses without power in Limerick and surrounding areas this Monday afternoon.

The faults were reported in the Birdhill area at 1:49pm and the Raheen area at 1:50pm.

In a statement made by ESB through their online PowerCheck facility, 1088 customers are currently being affected in Birdhill, while 192 customers are currently being affected in Raheen.

The statement continued: "We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible."

These outages come after Met Éireann issued a yellow weather warning for heavy thunderstorms in 15 counties, including Limerick just hours ago.

The estimated restore time for both faults is 5:30pm, however, the weather warning is in effect until 10pm this Monday night.
