A FORMER Limerick student, now billionaire, has shared the lengths he went to for ice-cream while driving in County Kerry.
John Collison, originally from Tipperary and co-founder of financial services company Stripe went to great lengths in search of ice-cream during the current raging heatwave.
Mr Collison was driving around County Kerry when he came across a sign for Muckross Creamery’s pop-up ice-cream parlour.
He drove 1.5 km down a country lane before arriving at the ice-cream parlour and shared his journey on Twitter.
“I would be very easy to kidnap,” the former Castletroy College student joked, comparing his journey to something out of Looney Tunes’ Wile E Coyote and the Road Runner.
I would be very easy to kidnap. While driving in Kerry, ended up following a series of signs 1.5 km down a country lane for ice cream like in a Wile E. Coyote plot. Ended up at Muckross Creamery @MuckrossC, a farm now operating a delicious ice cream stand. https://t.co/Cm0qPoLagI pic.twitter.com/5GvScwEBVQ

Muckross Creamery produces a wide variety of ice-cream flavours, using their own fresh milk, fresh cream and free-range eggs based in Killarney.
Mr Collison co-founded Stripe with his brother Patrick in 2010. He now serves as the company’s president. Stripe lets businesses and individuals accept payments over the internet.
Many of those in Limerick and across the country have been enjoying the current spell of sunny weather which according to Met Éireann could stick around into the coming weekend.
