THE HEADLINE above says half a million euro farm but nobody would be surprised if 49 acres at Lissowen, Doon well exceeds that guide price.
It is brought to the market by James Lee of REA John Lee who reports “very good interest” in the land for sale by private treaty.
“This is a prime holding containing some of the most productive lands in the region situated 900m from Doon village. The lands are in excellent condition, in permanent pasture and laid out in easily managed fields. The farm contains a considerable amount of road frontage (600m) with a holding yard, cubicle shed with 50 cubicles, four column hayshed, loose shed, cattle pen and crush,” said Mr Lee.
There is a bungalow residence on the farm which is in need of renovation.
Mr Lee is guiding at between €10,000 and €11,000 an acre but wouldn’t be surprised if the final price agreed exceeds that figure. There are a number of good dairy farmers in the locality who may see this as a perfect opportunity to extend their enterprise. It could also be attractive to outside buyers.
“It is a great block of ground and is good dry land. It is situated in a superb location only 20 minutes drive from Limerick city,” sums up Mr Lee.
Final offers by Friday, June 23 at noon.
