In Pictures: Emergency services come together for exercise on Limerick river

A MULTI agency operation took place on the River Shannon on Tuesday to test the emergency services' communication equipment. 

The operation was the first of its kind since before the pandemic and saw a number of agencies take to the water below Shannon Bridge in Limerick city. 

Organisations involved included: An Garda Síochána, Irish Coast Guard, Limerick City Fire and Rescue Service, Limerick Marine Search and Rescue and Limerick Civil Defence.

The multi-agency exercise assessed interagency coordination during time critical incidents and also tested communication systems.
