“ONE of those nights” resulted in a Limerick woman being before a judge in Kilmallock Court.
Antoinette Neill, aged 33, of Cliona Park, Moyross pleaded guilty to intoxication at Henry Street garda station.
Inspector Gearoid Thompson, prosecuting, said at 1am on February 6, 2022, a taxi driver came to Henry Street garda station to seek the assistance of gardai with regard to a customer.
“She became irate, shouting at gardai and was arrested for her own safety. A fixed charge penalty notice was issued which remains unpaid,” said Insp Thompson.
Judge Patrica Harney asked Ted McCarthy, solicitor for Ms Neill, “What came over her?”.
“It was one of those nights. She lives in an apartment with her five children. It is rare she gets out. There was a party for her sister. She somehow got separated from them. She can’t remember getting in a taxi,” said Mr McCarthy.
Judge Harney fined Ms Neill €75 for intoxication in a public place.
