Adare Manor will host the 2027 Ryder Cup
LIMERICK City and County Council is hiring a Ryder Cup 2027 co-ordinator for the flagship event in Adare Manor but getting the job won’t be a ‘gimme’.
The council is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacancy on a five year fixed term contract. The salary is €74,236 – €98,109 per annum, inclusive of LSIs (long service increments).
The working hours at present provide for a five day, 35 hours working week. However, hours may vary from time to time and the post may require flexibility in working outside of normal hours, including at weekends, as necessary.
According to the council website: “The position of Ryder Cup 2027 co-ordinator is an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in coordinating all elements of Ryder Cup preparation within Limerick City and County Council and, in co-operation with key stakeholders, harnessing the legacy benefits of hosting the event.
“The Ryder Cup co-ordinator will work with colleagues across Limerick City and County Council and other stakeholders to deliver a successful Ryder Cup legacy for Limerick and the region.”
A briefing note with the job specification says that it will be the largest sporting event held in Ireland in the decade and is the largest competition in the sport of golf. It is also the third largest global sporting event after the Olympics and World Cup.
Preferably, the successful candidate will demonstrate a number of abilities which include the ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders including regular meeting, presentation and reporting updates and ensuring learnings from same is used to enhance the preparations for the Ryder Cup 2027.
Other desired skill sets are excellent organisational skills and discipline and possess the drive to deliver the required results, and significant experience at management level.
