THANKS to ‘excellent input’ from one county Limerick community, a five-year development plan has now been completed.

Kilfinane Community Development Plan 2022 - 2027, which was formally launched last week, includes a number of initiatives and projects which it's hoped will make Kilfinane ‘an even better place to work and live.’

The launch event was organised by Kilfinane Community Council and was followed by music performed by local Ballyhoura CCE musicians.

Ruth McAuliffe, chairperson of Kilfinane Community Council, said it is “fantastic to now have a comprehensive plan in place” for the village.

“It is a plan created by the community, for the community - there has been excellent input from the local community at all stages.

"It is now time for the work to begin to install a new kitchen and toilets in the Teach na Cille community building, the Old Chapel Rooms is getting a new kitchen installed and the GAA received funding last year to upgrade the clubhouse,a new Limerick to Kilfinane bus route, along with new bus shelters are being added,” she stated.

Upcoming events planned for Kilfinane include Fleadh Luimnigh, the HearSay Festival, the Joyce Brothers Music Festival, Ballyhoura Walking Festival and Intercultural Food Fair.
