Elderly woman who died in collision named locally

AN ELDERLY nun who died following a road traffic collision involving a car and a truck has been named locally as Sister Cecilia Keating.

Sr Cecilia known as Sr Claire was residing in Castletroy at the time of her death but was formerly from Cross, near Kilbaha, County Clare.

The collision occurred between Kilbaha and Kilkee on Tuesday afternoon.

She was a member of the Sisters of St Joseph of The Sacred Heart.

Sr Claire was daughter of the late Bernard and Mary Keating and sister to deceased brothers Thomas, Bernard and Patrick and sisters Mary, Johanna, Philomena, Sr. Joan, Margaret, Sr. Mary and Bridget.

Sr Claire will be greatly missed by her loving brother Seán, sister Jenny (Keating), sister-in-law Maura, her many nephews and nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, her Religious Community, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

She will be reposing on Friday evening, March 10, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Cross from 6pm to 8pm (Eircode V15V060).

Requiem Mass on Saturday, March 11, in Cross Church at 12pm followed by burial in Kilballyowen Cemetery, Cross.
