Warning of 'hazardous conditions' in Limerick as Met Éireann issues ice warning

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Ice warning

MET Éireann is warning of "Hazardous conditions" in Limerick and across the country due to freezing temperatures over the coming days.

The forecaster has issued a Status Yellow ice warning which is due to come into effect on Monday evening.

"Hazardous conditions due to freezing temperatures including icy stretches on roads and paths," states the warning which was issued this Sunday afternoon.

It will come into effect at 6pm on Monday and is will remain valid until 10am on Tuesday.

According to the Met Éireann website, it will be very cold on Monday night with lowest temperatures of between 0 and -4 degrees leading to widespread sharp frost and possible icy stretches.

It will be very cold on Tuesday as an Arctic airflow makes its way across the country.
