Multiple speeding detections in Limerick during first two hours of National Slow Down Day

GARDAI have made several detections for speeding across the Limerick division in the first two hours of National Slow Down Day.
The detections were made by members of the Roads Policing Unit earlier this Tuesday as part of the 24-hour operation which continues until 7am on Wednesday.
Supported by the Road Safety Authority, the aim of National Slow Down Day is to remind drivers of the dangers of speeding, increase compliance with speed limits and act as a deterrent to driving at excessive or inappropriate speed.
According to an update, released this Tuesday morning, there have been a number of notable speeding detections in Limerick.
They include a motorist travelling at 121km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N21 Rineroe Adare Limerick and a motorist travelling at 72km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the R515 Garrynderk South Kilmallock Limerick.
An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.
Further updates to follow.
