GARDAI in Bruff are investigating an unusual theft in the village over the bank holiday weekend.

A spoiler was stolen from a white Volkswagen Passat sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm on Friday.

"This occurred outside a house at Sycamore Drive in the village. A black Ford Galaxy with a 10G registration pulled up beside the
Volkswagen Passat. A male got out of this car, removed the spoiler and drove off with it," said garda John Finnerty.

"Unfortunately we don’t have a description of the thief or a direction of travel. This particular type of theft would be unusual in Bruff village," he added.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Bruff gardai station at (061) 382940.
