TWO women have been arrested following a brawl in a Limerick pub that left both parties in a state of undress.
Video footage recorded on a mobile phone of the incident, which occurred in a licensed premises in the city on New Year's Eve, has been widely shared on social media.
It shows one female holding the hair of another while she repeatedly hits her on the head as she is on the ground. Another female pleads with the woman on her feet to "stop".
Security staff and others in the bar intervene to try and separate the women and try to break the hold one has on the other's hair. A male is heard saying, "Leave go of her".
It is at this point that both women experience wardrobe malfunctions.
One woman can be heard calling out "my phone".
A garda spokesperson confirmed officers responded to a public order incident in Limerick on Saturday evening, December 31.
"Two females were arrested for public order offences. They were later released pending further enquiries," said the garda spokesperson.
Investigations are ongoing.
