LIMERICK Racecourse and the Mid-West Branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors are teaming up to run this year’s Careers Expo 2012 in September.

Over 2,000 students from a number of schools in the region have already signed up for the event, which will take place on Tuesday September 25.

The institute have run the event - which provides a platform for colleges, training bodies and local businesses to meet with students from the region interested in third level education - for a number of years but, due to budgetary issues, required support from Limerick Racecouse for this year’s expo.

“In light of the recent cutbacks to guidance services, the Mid West Branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors are pleased to be working in association with Limerick Racecourse,” said Niamh Daly.

“We believe this expo is an essential part of the careers element of the guidance service.”

Russell Ferris, general manager of the racecourse said he was “delighted to be hosting the careers expo once more at Limerick Racecourse”.
