LIMERICK Racecourse is set to host the Ladbrokes.com Munster National and Ladies Day once again this year.

Taking place on Sunday October 9, from 2.30pm, it is the oldest race in Munster and has produced winners such as Foxchapel King, Treacle and Mossbank in recent years.

This year, there are seven National Hunt Races including the Ladbrokes.com Munster National, The Grade 3 PWC Chase and the newly upgraded Grade 3 Greenmount Novice hurdle.

In celebration of 10 years at Greenmount, the admission price has been reduced to €10 for all entrants.

Russell Ferris, general manager of Limerick Racecourse is looking forward to what he expects to be an exciting event.

“We are eagerly anticipating this year’s fantastic Ladbrokes.com Munster National and Ladies Day. Last year, we had 7,400 happy patrons enjoying the racing and of course the style on show.

“To add to the Ladies day celebrations there is a multitude of children’s entertainment, from Pony Rides, to Bucking Bronco’s, Slides and bouncy castles, Laser Quest and much much more,” he said.

Judging the Ladies Day this year are two of the best known faces in Irish entertainment, Lisa Cannon and Karen Koster of TV3’s Xpose Show.

There is no formal entry procedure for the Ladies Day and top prize is a diamond ring valued at € 5,000 from Keanes Jewellers. There are also prizes for second and third place.
