Limerick and the rest of Ireland will go to the polls to elect the 34th Dail next Friday, November 29
A TOTAL of 32 candidates are putting their names before the public across the two Limerick constituencies at next week’s General Election.
It follows the deadline to register as a candidate with the Limerick returning officer.
Limerick and the rest of Ireland will go to the polls on Friday, November 29, to elect the 34th Dail.
According to data published by returning officer Rita Considine, 15 hopefuls will chase three places in the three-seater Limerick County constituency.

While in the Limerick City constituency, which has four spots up for grabs, there are 17 candidates confirmed.
There is an increase in the number of candidates in both the City and County from the 2020 election, when both constituencies had 12 candidates apiece.
There are 14 female candidates, and 18 male candidates across both constituencies.
Ten of the hopefuls in Limerick City are men, with seven women.
In Limerick County, there are seven women and eight men on the ballot paper.
All seven TDs who were returned in 2020 are appearing on the ballot paper again in the hope of re-election.
Two Senators are contesting the General Election locally - both in the city - and there are six sitting councillors on the ballot paper - four in the city and two in the county.
Nine people on the ballot paper contested the election to be Limerick’s first executive mayor in June - one in the county, the rest in the city.
Polling takes place between 7am and 10pm on Friday, November 29, and counting will get under way the following morning at the Limerick Racecourse.
Results are expected to filter in across Saturday and Sunday.
