Gardaí respond to a serious incident on Limerick’s O’Connell Street

GARDAÍ have responded to a serious incident in Limerick city centre this Friday night. 

An area of O’Connell Street, near the Bedford Row junction, has been cordoned off, while a number of gardaí were present on the scene. 

Garda crime scene investigators were also present shortly before 11pm.

A number of onlookers, many of whom had been out socialising, were gathered in the area - with one local describing the situation as “extremely tense.”

Gardaí had not responded to a press query at the time of publication.
