Gardaí issue warning after thieves steal €2k worth of cigarettes from Limerick pub
Thieves 'as quick as lightning' stole the goods while they were being delivered
THIEVES “as quick as lightning” stole €2,000 worth of cigarettes from a Limerick city pub, prompting a garda warning.
On Saturday, September 14 at 7am, a truck made a delivery to a pub in the city centre.
While the rear door of the pub “was left open for a moment”, a thief entered and took the delivered goods, cigarettes, valued in the region of €2,000.
“Thieves are always on the look out to steal, they are as quick as lightening,” said Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry St garda station.
Limerick gardaí have now warned that “all delivery trucks and premises receiving deliveries must be locked when unattended”, following this incident.
