The Limerick hurlers were beaten 2-30 to 3-24 by Waterford in a challenge game at the weekend as they continue the countdown to their Munster SHC semi-final against Tipperary on June 9.
John Allen’s Limerick travelled to Mallow on Friday evening and lined out with a near championship side. Declan Hannon and Kevin Downes were the only notable absentees from the starting team but both were introduced to make scoring contributions.
Shane Dowling and Graeme Mulcahy goaled for Limerick but Waterford led 1-15 to 2-11 at half time.
