MARY Immaculate College will be Limerick’s only representative in this year’s Fitzgibbon Cup final weekend after UL and LIT were both beaten on Wednesday afternoon.

UL were beaten by a Noel McGrath-inspired UCD side in Belfield as the Tipperary man scored 0-12 in their 1-16 to 0-17 win. Mark Carmody (Patrickswell) was the only Limerick starter on the UL team as he lined out at corner back but John Fitzgibbon (Adare) was introduced in the second half. Croom’s Conor Allis was wing-forward on the UCD team. UCD will now play UCC in the semi-final in Galway next weekend. That UCC side includes Adrian Breen (Na Piarsaigh), Willie Griffin (Adare), Brian Cleary (Knockainey) and Jack Ahern (Killeedy)

Meanwhile, Mary I will play Colm Bonnar’s Waterford IT in the other semi-final as they were 0-21 to 1-14 winners over LIT.
