Adare advanced to the last four with this 0-15 to 1-11 victory over Patrickswell in the Gaelic Grounds, despite the second half sending off of Declan Hannon.

The Ger O’Loughlin managed Adare now play Garryspillane in the semi-finals.

Despite demolishing a no-show Emmets selction to reach the quarter-final, Adare’s senior hurling credentials had yet to convince as they as they sought to regain the county title after a three year absence.

Well, they don’t need to impress any longer. Sunday’s victory over Patrickswell showed that they rediscovered the bounce that made them Limerick’s most successful club since the turn of the century.

Mind you, it took a moment of adversity to bare the soul in this intriguing first instalment of yesterday’s double-header in the Gaelic Grounds. Level with ten minutes to go despite dominating the first half, talisman forward Declan Hannon was issued a straight red card for an off-the-ball comment that baffled players, mentors and supporters alike.

With their backs to the wall, they found a layer of steel to yield the priceless pair of points that stumbled them over the line.
