DOON were crowned Limerick premier minor hurling champions on Sunday with a superb second half display in the Gaelic Grounds securing a 2-13 to 0-11 win over Patrickswell.
They trailed 0-7 to 0-6 at half time but held Patrickswell to just four points in the second half while registering 2-7 themselves.
Pat Ryan was their two goal hero for a side captained by Darragh Stapleton.
They were 0-4 to 0-1 up after 11-minutes.
Kevin O’Brien did open the scoring for Patrickswell but then came four successive scores for the men from the east.
Dean Coleman was their scoring hero and was to have three points to his name by the end of the first half.
Raymond Ryan and free-taker Darragh O’Donovan were also early scorers.
Jack Kelleher then ended 12-minutes without a Patrickswell score and they were back in business.
Kevin O’Brien added another and the lead was down to a single point.
Coleman and Pat Ryan hit back but Doon were not to score in the closing stages of the half.
Frees from Andrew Carroll edged The Well ahead and a superb individual score from Lynch helped them to the interval lead.
In the second half it took The Well 18-minutes to score and Doon were 0-9 to 0-7 up by that stage.
Their first goal came in the 50th minute when Ryan finished cooly for a 1-11 to 0-8 lead.
The icing was put on the cake when Ryan goaled again in injury time.
